ואין עושין בה גנות ופרדסין משום סירחא

'That no kilns be kept there' — on account of the smoke.<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Which would blacken the buildings of the town; cf. B.B. 23a. ');">²⁰</span> 'That neither gardens nor orchards be cultivated there' — on account of the bad odour [of withered grasses].
